Did you know using baking soda for acne can be a wonderful exfoliant. I don't know the exact science behind the reasoning, but I do know that it makes my face look and feel great after I finish using it. If you are prone to getting blackheads, you're in luck. Baking soda is great for getting rid of them. Be forewarned, however. Baking soda tends to dry your skin a bit. Even if you tend to have oily skin, make sure you moisturize in the beginning. Once your skin has adjusted to it, you probably won't need any moisturizer.
It takes just a few seconds to do this. I recommend that when first starting out, only use this at most 3 times a week. Again this is because of drying issues. Also, make sure you use baking soda and not baking powder. Anyways, all you need to do is to mix some baking soda with a little bit of water. You want the paste thick enough that it will stick to your face. To much water and it will be runny and to little and it won't spread over your face smoothly. Don't stress to much over this, you just want it to smooth if very gently over your face for a few minutes. Then just rinse it off. Be sure that when your moisturize, use one that is specifically made for sensitive skin and is non comedogenic. The unfortunate truth for people with acne is they have sensitive skin.
